V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. The campaign was initiated by playwright and activist Eve Ensler (known for her play The Vagina Monologues), and her organization V-Day. Along with the V-Day movement, Ensler founded One Billion Rising, a global protest campaign to end violence, and promote justice and gender equality for women.

V-Day, a non-profit corporation, distributes funds to grassroots, national and international organizations and programs that work to stop violence against women and girls, with a vision of a world where women live safely and freely. V-Day promotes innovative events to increase awareness, raise money, and regenerate the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, Female Genital Mutilation (FGM), and sex slavery. In 2012, over 5,800 V-Day benefit events took place produced by volunteer activists around the globe. The campaign was initiated by playwright and activist Eve Ensler (known for her play The Vagina Monologues), and her organization V-Day.
