Following are the current joint advocacy and research interventions by the alliance:

One Billion Rising Campaign

At present the alliance is partnering with various women rights groups and organizations in Pakistan to support One Billion Rising Campaign initiated by V-Day, a global movements founded by famous American feminist and playwright Eve Ensler. Amongst the member organizations, Rozan is focal point for the One Billion Rising campaign from Pakistan. AMAL, as secretariat and member of V-Day is making a documentary film on violence against women that includes voices of female commercial sex workers, truck drivers, students, activists and development professionals and will arrange two theatre performances based on Eve Ensler’s plays and V-Men testimonials in February 2013. Recently, on December 10, 2012 Rozan, AMAL, Aurat Foundation, WeCan Campaign, WORD, RSPN and WLP had a successful launch of One Billion Rising in Pakistan. The event was hosted by Centre for Excellence in Gender Studies (CEGS), Quaid-e-Azam University,Islamabad. Other members have signed up on and OBR Pakistan facebook page and integrating the messages of this global campaign into their interventions.

Research Study on Fatherhood

The national secretariat of the alliance in partnership with other members is planning to conduct a small scale research study titled “Masculinities, Fatherhood and Early Development and Care of Child” with support from the regional secretariat based in Nepal. The study aims at establishing evidence for advocacy purposes with civil society and women rights organizations, donors, Academia, media activists and Governments and a future regional campaign in South Asia to promote men’s involvement as equitable, responsive and non-violent fathers and caregivers to prevent gender based violence (GBV).
