AMAL Human Development Network is hosting the secretariat of MenEngage Alliance in Pakistan, since October 2011
MenEngage is a global alliance of more than 400 non-governmental organizations and UN partners that seek to engage men and boys in reducing gender inequalities and promoting the health and well-being of women, men, and children.
Through a large network, MenEngage seeks to provide a collective voice on the need to engage men and boys in efforts for gender equality, to build and improve the field of practice around engaging men in achieving gender justice, and advocating before policymakers at the local, national, regional and international levels.
In Pakistan, the alliance now consists of 37 NGOs whose goal is to promote gender equality and to reduce gender based violence while engaging men and young boys. These include diverse groups working on men & masculinities, gender based violence, violence against women, sexual & reproductive health and rights, HIV and AIDS, ending violence against women, economic empowerment of women, child sexual abuse, human rights, fatherhood, youth rights, rural development, democracy, peace and livelihood etc.
The Pakistan chapter has set a long term and short term goal as per the agreement in the 1st core group meeting held on May 21, 2007.

A growing network of NGOs, Government of Pakistan and UN agencies to prevent gender based violence through active involvement of men and boys.
